Commissions & Originals

Does Kim take commissions?

Currently, Kim is fully booked on commissions. She does release originals periodically, and there is also the option of adding embellishments to any canvas print. This means Kim goes in and paints on top of the print, adding a bit of texture and a limited area for customization. 

Can I hold an original painting to purchase at a later date?

We do not allow Kim's original paintings to be placed on hold. They are available for immediate
purchase only.

We do offer a 15 day return policy on originals. If you decide it doesn't work in your space, you can return it within 15 days and receive a full refund.

Where can I buy Kim's work?

All of Kim's work and products are available on this website along with her Etsy Shop. She recently opened her flagship store and studio at 151 Main Street, Annapolis. If you're not local to Annapolis, check out the Store Locator to find your local Kim Hovell retailer.

What is the difference between a paper print and a canvas print?

We know that buying art can feel daunting. Choosing canvas or paper can be a hard choice, it just depends where you are putting the print and what your style is to best fit the space.

Our canvas prints are stretched over 1.5 inch stretcher bars with mirrored edges. They are gallery quality, and look just like the original minus the texture of the paint. While canvases can be framed, it is definitely not necessary.

The paper prints are on fine velvet art paper. Also gallery quality, and look just like the original minus the texture of the paint. All custom sizes come with a 1 inch white border so it is up to you if you want to add a mat. Unlike canvases, a frame is necessary for paper prints.

Can I reuse your candle containers after burning them?

Yes! We love to reuse the candle vessels. We use them for a lot of things; pen holders, makeup brush holders, succulent planters, and you can also put a votive or tealight in them. 

To clean out the wax, we recommend putting the container in the freezer overnight and using a butter knife to help pop out the excess oil once frozen. Pour boiling water in the container and the rest of the wax will float to the top.

Do you offer In-Store Pickup?

Yes! We offer in-store pickup on orders placed on our website. Please select 'In-Store Pickup' instead of selecting a shipping method. We will send you an email notifiying you when your order is ready for pickup.

What is your Return Policy?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase for a refund to your original payment method. You must have your receipt if purchase was made in-store or your order number for purchases made online.

In-store purchases must be returned in-store.
Online purchases can be returned in-store or by emailing support@kimhovell.com and including your name, address and order number to request a return authorization.
